This little guy is responsible for monitoring the current to ensure the safety and performance of the battery. In simple terms, it is the "eye" of the battery management system, always keeping an eye on the dynamic changes of the current.
The working principle of the automotive shunt is actually not complicated. It is usually made of high-precision resistor materials, with low resistance, high precision, and high stability, which are all its standard features. When current passes through the shunt, a voltage drop is generated across the resistor, and this voltage drop is proportional to the current. By collecting this voltage signal, the BMS system can calculate the current value and adjust the charging and discharging speed of the battery according to the current value.
